that explains why they wouldn’t consider putting up a resolution for antizionism up for a vote.edit: this is wrong, it was the cpusa, not the dsa
What are you talking about, that’s exactly what they did. Who told you otherwise?
you’re right, it was the cpusa, not the dsa
The fact that theres a consistent downvoter on the posts dunking on succdems makes me chuckle. Like, did you think this community was for you bud?
I agreed with the post but down voted the comment because the DSA has had a national convention decision that declares they are an explicitly anti-zionist organization.
Now, of course they don’t enforce it because they’re a bunch of sucdems, but I disliked the fact that their statement was antithetical to the truth.
The fact of the matter is that the DSA us incapable of being an actual revolutionary party because they are unwilling to hold their members accountable to their stated political program.
Don’t worry, the revolutionary section does exist and is rapidly gaining more footholds. The ability to enforce it is developing on a chapter-level and soon the majority force within its dialectics will shift to it being a revolutionary org.
I hope your optimistic outlook is rewarded, but personally I can’t say I trust that the organization will transform into a revolutionary formation rather than transform revolutionaries into reformists.
Thank you for the support. From my experience, the only “revolutionaries” I’ve seen turn into reformists in the chapters were unprincipled revs who refused to read theory and self-proclaimed rev anarchists.
This information is out of date by 7 years, DSA is antizionist. Most Zionists were in the North Star caucus and left after the 2019 resolution to align with BDS, but there is more history in the link above. Any claims that DSA is Zionist today is a smear campaign.
DSA remains loyal to Harrington’s Democratic Party entryism strategy.
No, it isn’t, National DSA has no official position on entryism, and is not the claim in this post. You can learn about the multiple tendencies here
Decentralized org? Lmao.
What are you trying to say here?
That they are disingenuous, at best.
Are you saying that they are disingenuous about being decentralized? You seem to be operating with incorrect information if that is that case.
No, I’m saying they’re a spoiler party meant to keep parties acceptable to power structures in place.
National’s platform is so different from its chapters?
Dsa being the dsa from day 1
