I had one that I bought not realising it was ornamental. Some were mild, some were insane and the hottest thing I’ve ever experienced. All were pretty bitter. I think they were 'ornamental" because there inconsistent. Vivid purple though so actually pretty until the birds ate them all.
Mine went through a whole spectrum of colors in a weird order. I want to say it was green -> purple -> yellow -> orange -> red. They were good when they were red.
