    Me, not being a little baby man, am going to buy one at some point because I want to play the Zeldas and the Marios and no one is gonna keep me from enjoying those games when they come out—and I’m still gonna emulate on my Retroid ‘cause fuck Big Gaming.

    I mean, my Switch works, and if Microsoft won’t port the Xbox UI to Windows handhelds, then I’ll buy a Steam Deck.

    Didn’t plan to buy one, before the S2 was announced.

    The number of anti consumer actions they take is amazing. They still hate YouTube. Instead of making their games not suck, they sue anyone who dares to try. They have a handful of console exclusive that even interest me, everything else I’ll get in Steam and it’ll play better, have cloud save, and a refund policy.

    I bought a NES in the 80s because it was the most amazing, magical thing. Now I’m at the point of ‘Fuck Nintendo, let it fall’

    I won’t. And not even due to the bad PR.

    I never bought a Switch. Thought about it, but never got around to it. I guess I’m just not the target audience.

    Though now in thinking about it, I bet I can pick up a good condition used Switch on the cheap once this comes out. Maybe I’ll get the first gen Switch after all!

        And that’s the only reason I’m even vaguely considering picking up a Switch 2 around launch.

        That said, even with a gen 1 Switch, booting into the CFW is just enough of a pain that I don’t do it often. Gotta grab the shim for the rail, plug it into something that can deliver the payload… ugh.

        I miss the days of Wii and PSP homebrew. No online shit to get banned from, no special booting techniques. 3DS cfw came pretty close in terms of ease of use.

        That said, being able to pirate games directly from the 3DS and Switch was a big step up from having to transfer files over to the memory card (PSP) or effectively needing a dedicated external HDD/partition (Wii). Even if it was slow as hell and couldn’t use my full internet speed.

    I haven’t decided yet, because it’s not available yet. Once it’s available, I’ll check reviews and whatnot to decide whether to purchase it. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t, it depends on a bunch of factors.

    Yeah, Nintendo sucks right in the legal department. But whether I buy their products has less to do with their legal department and more to do with the quality of the product.

          I wouldn’t say that no. But they are being used to whip people up into a fury effectively with out sharing all the facts. That’s why the video is ridiculously biased. Because if you came at it from a balanced perspective most people aren’t irrational. Nintendos actions while shit, all largely make sense.

      This video has been doing the rounds but if I remember correctly they are overly negative and are obviously not the target for Nintendo and have no intention of buying the Switch even before all the controversy.

        Ive been a nintendo fan my entire childhood and early adult life. I would say i am (at least clasically) nintendos target audience. I agree with the sentiments in the video. Nintendo is doing a lot of shitty consumer hostile things and people forking up ever increasing prices for decade old games will only validate their business practices and quality will further decay (like the games industry in general). That is essentially what he is saying. I will not buy the switch 2 (this video did not change my stance either way)

        Granted his overly negative rant was a bit tiresome, it felt like he was impersonating the angry nintendo nerd without the comedy. But that just feels like any other yt video rant these days
