I don’t think I’ve really seen any communities around here dealing with anything metaphysical or whatever. Or this kind of spirituality.

You might possibly get a better reception in !witchesvspatriarchy@lemmy.ca but that’s really the only community around here where I think people who have information or advice could possibly be lurking.

Chakras are hindu more than buddhist. Tibetans might have an interest.

Ah yeah, didn’t even think of that and I even saw a post come through my feed this morning from there. I tend to associate this kind of stuff more with hippies lol but maybe that’s a good place to ask too.

My Dad is a Buddhist, so I have some knowledge and respect for that philosophy/faith.

But yes, he was a hippy too.

And I think he would agree that this question is poorly formed at least. But then I’ve never heard my Dad talk about chakras either.

Best bet would be to find someone who is experienced with this kind of thing and discuss it rather than asking here. It’s not a stupid question, I just think it will take a long time for you to find the answer you’re looking for here and that you’ll get a lot of opinions rather than actual help.

The root chakra (just above your taint) is generally associated with the color red. Heart chakra is associated with green.

Meditation is such a broad description, anything from a moment of focused attention to sitting for hours muttering a mantra.

I haven’t heard anyone talk of “growing” chakras, and I’m very much in that world, they aren’t like muscles. You would grow your awareness of your chakras.

If you consider taking a moment to be aware of the sensations, emotions and images in the center of your chest to be “meditation,” I’m not sure how you could accomplish your goal. Otherwise… do that.

I like to take a moment when I see something particularly beautiful- sun sparkling on water, sunsets/sunrises, a striking vista, the moon on a clear night, and “breathe” it into my heart chakra.

First, learn about the scientific method.

Second, understand that chakras are nonsense pseudoscience.

Third, try to enjoy your life.
