One of my friends was horrified that I have daily naps. Just curious how often others nap

I had a nap yesterday afternoon, which is probably the first for several months. However, I am on holiday for a couple of weeks now, so will probably be having more over that time.

As an adult only on the rare occasions when I’ve missed a night of sleep entirely and I wouldn’t exactly call it a nap at that point

I don’t nap, but it baffles me that someone would be horrified over someone else having regular naps. If a nap takes you to your happy place, you do you.

If I’ve not slept well I have a 15 minute nap after breakfast. I like to nap again after lunch or around 3pm when I’m flagging.

At minimum every Sunday. Also after work depending on what time I get home; I have a very variable schedule. So I guess, every chance I get.

Pretty much only occasionally when I’m sick or really hungover – and then only before late afternoon. I get strong sleep inertia, so if I’m not careful, a nap means I’m groggy all evening then can’t fall asleep at a reasonable time. 😞

Oh, daily! Because the kitten will nap with me under the blankets, and the kitten tells me I must nap, and it’s illegal to ignore a kitten. So the kitten tells me.

Oh I hate napping! Makes me feel so horrible and I dread it if I’m tired in the day

Less now that we drink less alcohol in the evenings and don’t eat so much carbs

That said, having a 3 year old kid can be exhausting at times and I need a power so after getting up at 6 after waking up multiple times a night

Only when the following conditions apply.

    1. I’ve screwed up my sleep cycle. (At least once a week. You know, because digital entertainment exists…)

    2. I’ve had to wake up early. (very often)

    3. I feel tired in the afternoon. (a bit rare)

    4. There’s nothing urgent going on in the afternoon. (often)

On average, I tend to take a 1-2 naps every week. If I did that every day, it would be a sign of something gone horribly wrong with my life.
