One could argue that showing cock&ball torture on a livestream is also a form of porn.

Making the exception for young boys stumbling across it has me wondering if this was a post on child pornography. The extreme punishments would make more sense too.

There’s a group of rabid crazies that think that a woman can never consent to having sex with a man (because of the patriarchy). In their minds, any man who has sex with a woman is a rapist.

It’s ironically one of the most sexist beliefs against women I’ve ever heard.

Ah yes, “all piv s*x is rape (and/or) unnatural” (they would ACTUALLY unironically censor the word ‘sex’ in their verbal diarrhea) posts.

I remember seeing them getting more and more attention like ten or so years ago.

…Sometimes I wonder if the political shitstorm we’re enduring today is at least partially backlash against that in particular.

Like, the fascists print that shit out and frame it and say “this is what we are uniting against” and that’s how they convinced so many normies to follow them. Fuck.

I don’t think you’re wrong that it contributed. If nothing else, the GOP used it in their brainwashing to brand all liberals as being like them.

I literally heard Fox News use that logic not long ago to say that liberals are the reason why a child molester claimed he was trans when arrested for flashing children in a locker room.

It’s definitely a factor. I’m quite left leaning, but even I agree with them on a good number of points. Thankfully I’m capable of dissecting it further, so wasn’t drawn in. I can easily see how boys and young men could be.

We spent our whole lives being told we needed to apologise to women for oppressing them. That women had it worse than us and things needed to be evened up. Meanwhile, we were often worse off than they were, and got no additional support, other than being told to man up and/or being laughed at, with a dose of “how does it feel”.

Best I can tell. Feminists look at the top men and compare them to the average woman’s situation. They also make a lot of noise about the privileges men have, but are suspiciously quiet about the responsibilities linked to them. Women need their own space, but any male space is evil, and must be destroyed.

Fyi, I’m also aware that it’s a small minority of feminists, but they have a disproportionate voice in the media.

Can you imagine the reverse? A “female tears” mug, being used to mock a woman after domestic abuse. It would have caused an unbelievable amount of outrage! The fact that the situation has deteriorated enough that I’m not sure it still would, shows the flaw in the mentality.

One really weird thing that stands out to me is

hard labour…picking litter, picking produce, clearing mine fields, cleaning up Chernobyl

Ok, so picking vegetables and cleaning up rubbish; is somehow equivalent to clearing explosives or cleaning up nuclear contamination.

    So strange.

there are many valid reasons to dislike porn and the industry around it, why are all anti-porn communities so fucking weird?

Because while the porn industry might not be great, suppressing sexual desire like they do is unhealthy.

To be human is to want sex. Everyone will at some point think or desire sex. Generally, unless you’re a real rare case, you’ll get horny once in a while.

I’ve spoken with a few people like in the OP in the past, and they yell this anti-porn rhetoric as if they’re trying to loudly drown out their own sexual desires.

For real - the industry is horrific. I don’t feel comfortable with the real stuff; I don’t like not knowing if that person was treated fairly or paid what they were promised or consented to everything that happened. Zero puritanical aspect to it, zero issue with smut and drawn images.

It’s just frustrating how the weirdos are the ones most critical of the industry. The world would be better if all porn was stuff made by eager participants who were happy and paid well.

Younger consumers seem to very disproportionately favor small studios and individual creators with actors who at least pretend to be enjoying themselves, so I think things are likely getting better, if maybe slowly.

    Folks.

If you ever catch yourself describing how you want to torture someone to death, I want you to stop and take inventory of your priorities.

Look. I am not a pacifist. Some motherfuckers need to be removed from positions of power by any means necessary, up to and including violence.

That being said, should we not focus on restorative justice and rehabilitation? Why create unnecessary suffering in the process? The argument that things like the death penalty act as a deterrent doesn’t seem to be borne out in the evidence. What good is served by torturing someone, even if they’re the nastiest son of a bitch in existence?

It is important to make sure we don’t let killing for sport seep into our ideology. Using violence against people is not something we should take pleasure in, let alone fantasize about. History has given us plenty of examples to draw from here; once you make a policy out of sadism, the group of people you use violence against only grows.

Also, porn is fine in moderation (like everything else) and can be made totally consensually, you terminally online freaks.

Someone close to me was repeatedly raped by one of he neighbors from the age of 4 until she was 8. He did it to her sister and to his own daughter as well. For this the government gave him 6 years in prison. He was out before she graduated high school. She has a lifetime of shit to deal with because of his actions and I’m sure the other two do as well. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to make that motherfucker suffer. I don’t care if it’s “good” or if it deters anyone else from doing it. There’s no rehabilitation for someone like that or restoring what he took from them.

Something Vimes had learned as a young guard drifted up from memory. If you have to look along the shaft of an arrow from the wrong end, if a man has you entirely at his mercy, then hope like hell that man is an evil man. Because the evil like power, power over people, and they want to see you in fear. They want you to know you’re going to die. So they’ll talk. They’ll gloat.

They’ll watch you squirm. They’ll put off the moment of murder like another man will put off a good cigar.

So hope like hell your captor is an evil man. A good man will kill you with hardly a word.

Or as if gay porn wasn’t a thing. It is funny when you realize how anti-men people do mental gymnastics for this kind of stuff, yet on the same breath state that sex work is real work, when pointed at OF “models”, or anything that is lucrative for women.

So many people aren’t even anti-men, it’s just that they don’t respect women enough to consider them capable of anything distasteful(unless they can use it to force them to do things for them). It’s like how people lose their minds over trans women but say nothing about trans men. And, honestly, as a straight man from the start, we have a terrible history that, as a group, we are doing far too little to grow out of despite having so many tools and so much power available to us. I kinda get it.

I fully agree with that first half of the statement, and seeing women as nothing but things, incapable of evil, of plotting, murdering, mass murdering or any other distasteful thing.

But then on the next few lines you show similar views with collective responsibility, on how straight men have a terrible history, and that we’re doing far too little to grow out of.

People are not monolithic, and while sure, you can state statistics, judging everyone for the crimes of many or few they share characteristics out of their control with, is a very fucked up thing.

I literally said “as a group”, which implies that it is a generalization and I am well aware that there exceptions. I myself am generally considered to be one such exception by many women I meet and I am quite proud of that and the work I’ve put in to get there.

We, AS A WHOLE, are still not able to make women AS A WHOLE feel safe. They are choosing the bear and they are not wrong to just because a couple nice men exist somewhere. There’re also awful women out there, but I’m FAR more confident that I’d be safe around a random women than a woman would be around a strange man and no amount me of trying to be a victim will change that for the better.
