At her first (only?) press conference, she announced she was buying a house and moving her family to DC and the advice of every commentator was that she should definitely not do that.

Where do you find people willing to pass Trump’s personal loyalty test that are not simultaneously incompetent and incredibly stupid, especially now that Trump’s brand is toxic? I’d argue they do not exist.

Is Trump’s brand toxic? It seem like more people support him than ever, much to my dismay

His supporters beat up a woman at one of his rallies, and people just reacted by calling her fat and trans.

Yes, he’s losing popularity, even Republicans recognize that having Trump come out to stump for you will actually LOSE you votes. That’s what I mean by toxic–you will lose political popularity for being associated with him.

MAGA and all right-wing nativism is toxic in the more absolute sense, as in toxic to humanity.

Fortunately for her and her family, I don’t think she got the chance.

One of the criticisms was that it was only her third day on the job and she was woefully unprepared… usually they give press secretaries 2 weeks to get up to speed. But I guess she was blonde enough to go in front of the cameras, and really she only had an audience of one. Look at Hegseth’s briefings, for instance: the guy is an obvious embarrassment, but you know Trump’s eating it up.

Exactly, Trump asked for her to be put there.

I’m surprised they didn’t let Natalie Harp have a crack at the job but I imagine she’s too busy helping Trump all day long.
