Today I’m using The Sudsy Soapery’s collaboration with Chatillon Lux, Delor de Treget. This is another soap that was buried in my den, but it is a pretty great scent. Barrbarr paired really well with it, and I think I would use this combo again.

Great shave with a vintage razor and a traditional soap scent.

I was going to shave with SSL today, but Leather was delivered in time. Everything is super balanced in the soap and splash, but the EdT is much more coriander forward to my nose (from the start, at least). An excellent pickup, no ragerts.

How fortuitous that the r/ws sub-exclusive soap, “Seaforth! Leather”, arrived yesterday, and today’s theme soap was scented by Shawn Maher, same as Leather.

Leather definitely smells “90’s” to me, but not in a “90’s mall frag” sort of way. Instead it’s a “90’s childhood memory” type of scent. It puts me in an oddly specific place. I picture waiting in the hallway for a table at the Chinese restaurant we’d go to on special occasions. It was in a building with a shared hallway, and the building just had sort of a “smell” to it. Maybe it was some aspect of the Asian cuisine being cooked nearby? Anyway, that’s what I get. It’s not for everyone, but I like sort of funky unique scents, and this one is a win in my book.

Another rare soap from a rare soaper, but luckily I have the artisan who made today’s theme soap, so I’m finally up for the four artisan points again, yay! Luckily for everyone else, the soap is scented by Shawn Maher, so it’s almost impossible not to have something that fits for the scenter points. All my software today is scented my Shawn under his Chatillon Lux brand.

I’m not a frequent enough user of Sudsy Soapery’s to have the base dialled in, but the slightly foamy lather I got was perfectly serviceable and the big Dovo is a joy to use.
