Has anyone epoxied carbon fibre cloth onto something?

I have a heat shield that I failed to paint properly and now I’m thinking that I might do the above instead.

Only problem is I need such a small piece of cloth. Not worth buying a whole lot.

yes but a very long time ago

you need to prep it very well, clean the surface then sand it, otherwise it will delaminate off, especially if there is heat involved

brush on a coat of epoxy first, let dry to tacky, sand a little, put on the cloth, paint the cloth with epoxy, let dry to tacky, put on another coat or two

    Mildly touchy recent topic

Fuckkk, Spud was being forced to withdraw cold turkey due to not being able to afford nicotine therapy and barely having money for food.

@StudChud@aussie.zone When you see this if you can get to one of the places you can get some food for Mickey https://secondchanceanimalrescue.com.au/resources/outreach-program/scar-pet-food-pantry/

There are food banks around that might have relaxed eligibility

And there might be bulk billed consults or reduced cost/free nicotine therapy

Ps. Sorry if this is none of my business

    Yet another wave.

Also got into a barking contest apparently with an elderly St. Bernard doggo. This thing was huuge. They’re gentle giants but I lost that one had to yield.

Once a little sugar ant made up his mind to roam -

To fare away far away, far away from home.

He had eaten all his breakfast, and he had his Ma’s consent

To see what he should chance to see; and here’s the way he went -

Up and down a fern frond, round and round a stone,

Down a gloomy gully where he loathed to be alone,

Up a mighty mountain range, seven inches high,

Through the fearful forest grass that nearly hid the sky,

Out along a bracken bridge, bending in the moss,

Till he reached a dreadful desert that was feet and feet across.

'Twas a dry, deserted desert, and a trackless land to tread,

He wished that he was home again and tucked-up tight in bed.

His little legs were wobbly, his strength was nearly spent,

And so he turned around again and here’s the way he went -

Back away from desert lands, feet and feet across,

Back along the bracken bridge bending in the moss,

Through the fearful forest grass, shutting out the sky,

Up a mighty mountain range seven inches high,

Down a gloomy gully, where he loathed to be alone,

Up and down a fern frond and round and round a stone.

A dreary ant, a weary ant, resolved no more to roam,

He staggered up the garden path and popped back home.

    Oh fuck me.

I tried to book some leave for after the moratorium - we’ve got a brief hold on leave requests for everyone because new stuff coming through the pipeline etc - and the new system to book it is a fucking nightmare.

I need a break and I can’t even organise one

Work recently ‘upgraded’ to Xero for pay/timesheets/leave etc. Only public holidays don’t load properly. I have let management know just how I feel about that. Requesting leave actually works pretty good though.

The woollies homebrand peas are really dreadful.

No matter how I cook them or for how long theyre hard and starchy.

It’s so dreadful, thank god I managed to get peas from Aldi. I didn’t notice the Aldi peas being like that but I’ll find out in the next few days if I was just imagining it.

Probably left a bit long before harvest?

You could treat them like the starchy marrowfat peas. Have some mushy peas with a pie or fish and chips

Aldi frozen stuff is usually solid in quality. I think most of it is packed in Europe, so that might be why.

Their frozen green beans are shit. A lot of stalks in there. They might’ve changed now. It’s been years since I bought them from there.

Ah yes, the bulk up so the food has some colour and apparent nutrition 😜

We do the same. If it looks too ‘meaty’, peas, carrots and corn add a bit of fibre

Jesus christ, giveacrap just keep digging that hole.

    • failed delivery due to shitty delivery company - i bring it to their attention - they resend with same company and driver. Rinse and repeat six friggin’ times

    • I look up our order history and realise this shit has been going on with every single order for the past year. F this. I cancel everything. Ain’t got time for that shit. Especially since the guys who deliver my cat litter do tp now.

    • Leave a review on productreview under the usual nick telling them they used to be great, but now they’re not and they need to stop using the cheapest, shittiest couriers and callcentres they can get their hands on, and they’ve lost a loyal customer.

    • This <censored> from their staff doesn’t pm me on productreview, but instead runs my nick through their database, matches my email and emails me directly asking ‘did you leave this review?’ Not looking to resolve the issues or regain a customer, nope, just wants the bad pr to go away.

He’s about to become extremely fucking acquainted with the word ‘inappropriate’

That’s who I get mine from last time, after WGAC annoyed me by reducing the minimum time for their subscription. The paper is ok but not great quality, probably equivalent to the WGAC standard recycled stuff. The wrapping for each roll has lots of animal pictures on it, which I consider to be a good feature.

Oh! I’ve not had trouble with them aside from couriers who literally throw and run. What is knocking? Possibly because we are so close to the main DC?

@Taleya @briongloid had it with them about a year ago, just awful couriers, failed at least 3 delivery attempts in a row and I told them to go jump. Switched to Yarn’n, who so far haven’t fucked up once, but I’m kindof waiting for it to happen, it just seems almost inevitable.

I had a lot of trouble with them in the past before I eventually cancelled my subscription, like delivering the wrong things when I varied the order, missing orders, customer service that was friendly but incompetent, incorrect billing.

Yikes. That sounds awful… I haven’t had a new delivery in well over a year because I forgot to delay one before and I’ve still got a whole unopened box to use. Did the company get bought over or something?! Why must even WGAC fall to enshittification -_- although it is perhaps ironically fitting that they do. Ugh.

Feels really unsettling, all the brands you felt good about and safe with ending up like this, like all your friends turning into dropkicks and your old life is no more.

The other day I read about Kogan having an energy plan (wtf to even that) and really horrible service - apparently it’s white labelled Powershop. Jesus, anyone remember when Powershop were the energy brand of choice for us greenies before they got inexplicably sold to Shell…

In my case it’s them partnering with a shitty courier and having customer service mishandle it to the point of cancellation. But the mishandling to the point of a federal complaint is a new one for me…

The courier issue is a fucking mind boggle because it’s ANC. And i use pet circle. Who very fucking famously use ANC and i have had ZERO delivery issues. Ever. Different tiers and SLAs i guess
