Why would a basketball court have to be shut down like this? Was a homeless person going to play basketball and they had to put a stop to it?
This looks more like a NIMBY living next to a park or school got mad at kids being too loud one day and went to home Depot to do this themself to try and punish them for having fun in a public space despite them probably getting the house for cheap because it’s nearby a loud area.
There’s probably some reason why the court was unsafe to play on. I’ve seen them do this when the park was closed for construction.
