Watched in the #KungFuSat watch party on Mastodon.
More info:
This is my favorite movie of all time. No horseshit. No other comes close for me, tho my next favorite action movie is also stars Kurt Russell.
Escape From New York? Another of my faves.
Loved BTILC for decades, in my list of action-comedy-horror favourites.
I think it’s my favorite premise of all time. Not only is it an accidental hero, he’s largely incompetent. He’s carried by the team and gets all the credit. Not in a, “that guy didn’t didn’t help the group project at all” but they all love him.
Does he have imposter’s syndrome? Hell no. He’s boastful and arrogant.
But he’s so fucking charming and I want to have his babies.
He’s the bard of the party.
I was recently thinking of this movie and thought he was an incompetent hero. Half of the things he does fail.
I saw this movie for the first time last year.
It fucking rules.
It’s one of the only movies I can watch multiple times (bc of my crazy good memory, I know all the beats, plots, and most lines to everything I’ve seen) bc it’s so fun.
Indeed, it does!
Ah, another opportunity to post my favorite Youtube video!
An absolute delight!

Old Man Jack. It’s been decades since he shook the pillars of Heaven and the years haven’t been kind to this truck driving fool. And now he’s being called on to save the world and his own butt again.
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol’ Jack Burton always says at a time like that: “Have ya paid your dues, Jack?” “Yessir, the check is in the mail.”
“Hollow?”
“Hollow.”
“Fuck it…”I know Wang, we’ll just chew our way out!
