They came for your department stores, your newspapers, your hospitals. Now—hold onto your sesame seed bun—they’re coming for your burger. The drive for fatter profits means higher prices, lower quality, tougher conditions for workers, and sometimes the blowup of the business itself.

Wait, so the capitalist class will tend to serve the public the lowest quality slop they can get away with charging sky high prices for? This is surprising news to me. Amazing.

The more corporate ownership is allowed to concentrate, the worse its going to get.

Yea, but who tf in their right mind actually cares about the wellbeing of Wendy’s or McDicks?

Break up the the 3 telecom giants in Canada. Break up the grocery store and oil company consolidations. Bring back Trust Busting.

Some shitty fast-food chain getting enshitified and destroyed by wall street monkeys? Who cares… just go eat somewhere else

For groceries, yea that’s a concern.

But fast food chains though?. There’s mom & pop stores, family restaurants, street vendors, pubs type options in most towns.

A lot fewer than there was before the fast food chains moved in.

Can we stop inventing stories from Reddit opinions? Was there a single number or set of numbers used at all to accurately describe what they are complaining about?
