Opening that box has never been a good idea
My partner and I stay far away from everywhere on Valentines Day. She also wears a 3D printed ring or the “nice” Amazon $9 ring, so I think I partially lucked out.
Similar here. Our engagement/wedding rings we bought together. Since we have a coming Bank account it anyway doesn’t matter who pays. Making a nice surprise is of course always nice, but that doesn’t need to be materially valuable.
You can only get away with day-of purchases when its perishable.
at opening time 5am my local supermarket parking lot was full of 40ish year old dad types grabbing flowers and chocolates and cards.
Lot of judgement ITT. At least these guys have someone.
they do seem to be a certain type too. with the caps and all
Dude bros
That’s racist
i didnt know wearing a cap + shorts + oversized shirt is a race
Only two of them are wearing baseball caps. One of them is wearing a beanie. Sounds like you’re referring to more than there clothes otherwise you’re not even making sense.
It looks like a diverse group of lazy people to me.
Aww thats cute
They’re pissed they can’t stand in line for Pokemon at Costco or Target instead.
Those gigantic Snorlaxes are already sold out
I, too, wait till the last possible minute for every holiday
Its too bad this is the way they feel they need to show their partners affection on Valentine’s day; a huge waste of money directly into the maw of the capitalist machine.
Absolutely! Don’t waste your money on meaningless trinkets! And even better, if you ask me – don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day at all! My partner and I don’t do anything for it, we just do things for each other whenever we feel like it, and we’re happier that way.
I met my partner one v day and we first said I love you the following year the day before, so it has significance for us. She gets me a bag of Lindsor chocolates, I get her a bouquet of flowers, we write a card and are happy.
It about contributes to the capitalist machine as much as anything else I do: watch TV, read a book, go to the theater, drive to work, pay a guy to fix my roof…
I think watching TV and going to the theater are unhealthy too, but that’s a larger conversation.
Wasn’t the whole day invented to basically make meaningful romantic gestures impossible in mid-February?
Same here.
Line at flower section was intense today.
