Would like to see more about the arctic routes, that seems interesting and plausible.

But I find the “Second Suez Canal” theory less convincing. If they try conventional methods (or worse, hire the Boring Company) to build that it’ll take way too long until it’s done. And the nuclear bomb method would draw too much opposition even from “israelis”.

Besides that, any canal in that region would be really hard to maintain given all the possibly opposition put up by the countries in the region, and it’d still be vulnerable to Anserallah attacks off the coast of Yemen.

I think the US benefits way more from having that whole canal closed (blocking Mediterranean trade with the East) than controlling it, and “buying” Gaza would be a stepping stone towards that.

Yeah honestly, all these “plans” will take so long to implement that by the time anything meaningful could have been done, China will already be far ahead of them. It’s just in general logistics of these things, China already has all the momentum. The US will have to not only build momentum, but try and stop China’s. Unless they intend to just do war and nuke everything I don’t see how they can compete. It obviously seems like they are now trying but I feel like it’s gonna be too late.

I see it how I see their F35 program. “By the time they even get the thing ready, it’ll already be obsolete.”

I agree they dont want to build another canal. Just having Gaza as a US military base so close to the existing one is all they want. Theyd functionally control it. Plus they want Gaza for its natural gas. They want a pipeline thru north gaza from the gulf states for oil, and natural has wells off the Gaza coast and then theyd turn it into a massive oil and gas export hub to supply europe with. Letting American companies get the profits. This would also allow them to bypass the Strait of Hormuz which Iran controls.

There’s another angle to this is which is that construction of a canal will be a project that can soak up billions of dollars. So, whoever owns the companies to implement it will be filthy rich.
