Actually, in context of an author who spends the article writing about how Europeans can earn the respect of Trump (as if such a thing has any value), it is clear that Europeans have a lot more to learn about rationality before they can become rational.

I think the author is Singaporean, from what I know Singapore is still fairly pro American right now.
Well, that’s interesting in its own way I suppose. I don’t know anything about Singapore so my reading on the author’s politics go out the window.
