Not being able to afford first class plane tickets isn’t suffering.
But lots of folks seem to think it is.
Just like the weirdos here who think the world is abusing them because the price of RAM went up and and their $3000 Gaming PC is now $5000.
This idea that everyone is ‘suffering’ is so utterly absurd and akin to hippies thinking we are all ‘unenlightened’ because we’re not constantly tripping balls on lsd.
Have you ever been hungry? slept in the freezing cold? lived without medical or dental care? That is legitimate struggle and suffering. Not being a whiny bitch about how you’re not rich enough to afford luxuries that could feed people for years…
truth is maybe if folks did legit suffer they’d have more perspective on life. Daddy not buying you a Porsche for your birthday isn’t suffering, Daddy beating you on your birthday for wanting a birthday cake is. And sadly way too many people can’t seem to understand the difference anymore.

No.
reddiquette was always a joke, and it only kind of made sense when reddit was a homogeneous userbase of young nerds who were actually idealistic. once reddit became a target for interest groups, marketers, and etc redditique was just virtue signalling/plausible deniability.
any moral code falls apart as soon you have participants who are willing to exploit it rather than honor it.
the base code of redditiquttee was ‘remember the human’, well you can’t exactly do that if your belief-set active denies the humanity of other people, which is how most average folks operate, and typically folks are only capable of abstract respect for other people who share their pre-existing biases and beliefs, which is precisely why reddit worked well when it was a bunch of 20/30 something college-educated male techie libertarians, but once it diversified that quickly fell apart. in a diverse environment people won’t disagree with your ideas, they will disagree with your existence.
like colleges have honor codes, and those work mostly because the population of a college is self-selected and mostly demographically homogeneous, but if you are visibly distinct from other students at the college, the honor code won’t apply to you.
