You don’t seem to understand. There is no country on this planet that doesn’t have at least one abnormal living environment within. And the people living in such types of environment don’t have the luxury of entertaining your kind of psychological snobbism/elitism.
You talk of ideals, not reality. From the role of an observer, not a participant. Your advice is superficial nonsense from a position of safety and comfort.
I mean, what planet have you been living on until now?
Easy to beat. Just surround him with senators and stab him in the back with his own queen.
An average person doesn’t mechanically compartmentalize emotions and puts them aside because they aren’t “productive solutions”.
It’s good for you that you’ve managed this kind of selfcontrol in order to improve your life. But that’s because you’ve numbed down the things that do you harm.
A person that isn’t depressed doesn’t have that kind of ‘benefit’. Emotions run freely and wild without fear. And cause all kinds of trouble.
Lovers being jealous of outside attention to the point of madness.
Siblings being jealous of biased parental love to end up estranged.
Children in patched up clothes on the streets begging or on the fields working - being jealous of children dressed in brand new school uniforms and going to school together.
Any person in a hospital bed with a terminal illness watching through the window the world living a life they can’t have.
And so many other examples…
Productive solutions don’t mean shit when it comes to strong emotions and jealousy can be very strong at times. Strong enough to murder even. I mean forget about the world-ending news regurgitation, at the local level where the average person lives, jealousy is high up in ranking as a reason for commiting crimes.
Pardon me, but you sound very privileged here, in the spiritual sense of “stop being poor” or “just don’t be depressed” etc.
If that was your intention, you’ve succeeded admirably.
Not necessarily. As free and open as it is, not everyone can add to it. There have been some caught, yet almost successful attempts to insert malicious code in open source software.
Also, the contributors might be passing on the torch thinking in the same way. And far as I remember, the original devs did a similar thing by letting others add in whatever.
So I’d say that until someone says they’re specifically working on it, nobody actually is.
I wish you both well and that you’ll find trustworthy friends.
Remember to take care. There are those online who target children that can be easily isolated, purely out of malice.
As a passerby, my opinion is that it would be safer to find already established groups involving her hobbies and let her participate freely and openly. Then any natural social connections formed can be tackled on individually.
Better mod tools are a repeatedly requested feature. The question remains whether it’s being ignored or it’s difficult to implement and cover the entire fediverse.
Yes. The correct solution is to kick them out. Why are they even there if it isn’t to participate? If the topic is inappropriate, make a report and let the mods handle it.
Well, if you cannot disembark, then make the most of it.
SpaceX. They’re accepting applications to join the crew of their next ship, the Event Horizon.
They meant physical consequences as in using China’s internet access unique id to identify the commenter and then having them “reeducated” by local government forces.
You’ve destroyed yourself for nothing. That’s an achievement in itself. Be proud of it.
Wonder why I feel like I traversed into a parallel version of the world where this wasn’t already an established fact…
Probably because dumbasses are in charge of education and culture.
This community was just above your post in my feed.

It’s the first time I’m seeing it and it certainly appears unique to me at the moment.
Because they do harm. Some are in favour of using them due to harming the people they don’t like. It’s still harm, reasonable or otherwise.
Some points are good, some are ok, and some are bad.
This part seems bad for me specifically.
Twitter, which was arguably the hub of wokeness, was bought by Elon Musk in order to neutralize it, and he seems to have succeeded — and not, incidentally, by censoring left-wing users the way Twitter used to censor right-wing ones, but without censoring either.
An example of how this “not censoring either” is going. https://lemmy.world/post/24259702
Ideas look good on paper, but then reality drops by and shits on it.
Delay, Deny…
There’s a VP that could give it a good tumble, if you don’t mind it getting stained.
