This shape is called a Klein bottle if anyone was curious. There are some neat math videos about topology that discuss it. Water poured into the top can get into the interior through the handle.
important detail: it’s not actually a klein bottle because a true klein bottle can only exist in 4 spatial dimensions.
In our reality we can only make “projections” of klein bottles, hence why it intersects itself. A proper 4D klein bottle wouldn’t intersect itself, instead it’d be sort of equivalent to a mobius strip.
