This is not an isolated incident. If interest is piqued, dive into DS9 concerning Jadzia actor Terry Farrell.

this story doesn’t change the fact she left by her own decision. she felt she is not getting enough lines and screen time and that the grass will be greener elsewhere. when she found that was not the case, she tried to get back, which resulted to tng mirror episode and later sela.

that is not saying berman is not asshole, but lets keep our facts straight.

The other thing i heard is that the bridge design was such that she had to be present for shooting for hours on end just standing at a console without having any lines

It’s bedtime, so I’ll have to hunt Terry’s situation down later.

I can’t complain too much on this case, however: I enjoyed both Becker, and Nicole DeBoer’s stepping in (as well as the latter’s run on The Dead Zone series, which was based on one of my favorite movies staring the fantastic Christopher Walken).

Barkley didn’t exist at that time.

Denise Crosby left because she felt her character wasn’t being explored enough - not given enough to do.

Broccoli is just the basis for that format, yes.

While Crosby has publicly stated her dissatisfaction with her character’s level of involvement in the first season stories, there remains rumored, though unverified, talk of Berman’s influence. Given his track record thereafter, it’s not too far[point] a reach to consider his hand in the matter.

I don’t doubt that both are true.

I’m sure she felt her character was underserved because of Dick. As testament to Berman’s leadership, McFadden had to be brought back permanently after he said it was her or Sirtis. And Crosby became recurring as one character or another.

I know that’s been the stated reasoning, but I’ve always found that very thin-sounding. Berman making her uncomfortable enough to want out seems infinitely more plausible to me.

Not really sure what Reg has to do with anything (guessing that’s who you mean, assuming you used a swipe keyboard that got the name wrong).

Well, just to hose you down with some unrelated bad news, Dwight schultz is a MAGA asshole who had a right wing AM talk radio show for years.

I read that as Dwight Schrute at first and got really bummed out and confused for a few moments.

He doesn’t have a radio show but did show up on Fox’n’Friends to bitch about how comedy is too woke, recently.

Correct, the actor is a massive asshat and his bullshit really ruins every episode of Star Trek featuring him for me these days.
