Three male escorts in a new documentary have alleged that late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham paid them for sexual encounters, including one who says he was 17 at the time.

The CLOSETocracy, produced by Swamp Watch Studios and Tystnaden Films and released by the left-wing Young Turks network, features testimony from men who say Graham paid them for sexual encounters in Arizona and Washington, D.C. The allegations have not been independently corroborated.

One of the men, identified in the documentary as Kelvin, alleges he met Graham at a property in Arizona in 2001, when he was 17. He claims Graham paid him $120 for the encounter.

“My name is Kelvin. I had sex with Lindsey Graham when I was 17,” he says in the documentary.

    Least shocking reveal in history.

Of course it comes out after he’s dead (I just remembered that he’s dead, which was a nice pick me up)

It’s like when I get reminded that Rush Limbaugh and Charlie Cuck are dead and I get up and dance a little jig.

This was known before, Graham helped keep the stories out of the mainstream, and victims are allowed to share their stories.

They’re criticizing these men for not coming forward earlier.

Because it’s totally ok to put the blame on victims instead of Lyndsey fucking Graham.

I’m not criticizing them for coming forward. They deserve support. I just don’t see a point in the media focusing attention on this after he’s dead. Their are far too many still living problems to deal with to be dividing focus towards dead ones.

Victims should be able to tell their story in their own time without criticism.

I’m not criticizing the victims. I’m criticizing the media. This stuff was already known while he was alive if they wanted to dig into it.

The criticism is valid, over the last 25 years that victim could have approacged law enforcement or the media to prevent the abuser abusing again. Instead he waited until after they died to do a documentary.

These aren’t new allegations. Victim blaming will not be tolerated here.

Lyndsey Graham had a lot of influence and pull. He absolutely worked to bury these stories.

I’m not blamingthe victim for their abuse. I am criticising their approach to holding their abuser accountable which is absolutely appropriate. They are not infallible as result of being abused.

The fact there were rumours for years does nothing but support that people should have come forward instead of going public after he died.

It’s good to have confirmation, even though literally everyone knew about Miss Lindsey. Though I actually didn’t see the minor coming there, he always seemed the sort to prefer 20 somethings

I hope the minors and all who were victimized as a part of it can find peace and get some restitution, and that those who weren’t got good payout from him (though given the payment amount in there it looks unlikely)

Now at the end of the road it comes out that he paid a lot of people, from boys to men, for sex. “I’ll make love to you” he would say, before pulling out his wallet and offering cash on bended knee. In the still of the night he would get so hard and say “good buy” & “yes, today”.

Just for context, Lindsey Graham asked the escort his age and the escort said he was 18. This also occurred back before real IDs that got scanned and when people 18-21 often had fake IDs for drinking. In other words, it’s not like if Graham asked for Kelvin’s ID that it would have proved things.

“I just need you to tell me how old you are,” Graham allegedly said at one point, according to Kelvin’s account.

“I said, ‘OK, I am 18 years old,’ ” Kelvin recalled.

It was also still constitutional to ban gay sex and gay people couldn’t get married. He was also an older gay person, not particularly good looking, and still wanted to have sex, which meant paying for escorts, which was illegal already. I don’t think this really shows that Lindsey Graham was some sort of evil person. He grew up with his very existence being illegal, he still couldn’t legally get married, and so existing inherently meant violating laws he had been taught one way or another. He at least tried to make sure this victim was an adult.

I’m not saying Lindsey Graham wasn’t horrible. He often voted against LGBT rights. But… he made something of himself as a closeted gay person during a time in which it was nearly impossible to be out. If he had come out at some point, he would have lost his career, been a public joke among conservatives, and ultimately he chose to stay in the closet.

Everything you just pointed out makes everything Lindsay Graham has ever done, worse. But you phrased it as if you were trying to gather sympathy. So you might want to look into that.

Too bad they couldn’t come out when he was alive. I know times were more tumultuous then but, it would have been more advantageous in my politics riddled brain if they had.

I hope they heal from whatever traumatic sex acts Lindsay may have subjected them to. I always assume conservatives try to push past people’s boundaries.

I only heard about ladybirds around the time he died and I haven’t gotten over that trauma yet. I mourn for their souls which must have died at least a little
