More bullshit from the assholes who wouldn’t agree that the Earth exists if they thought it would give them any kind of advantage or benefit.

Who manages the US official White House account? It’s been off the chains ever since Trump took office. Previous adminstration it was merely “We congratulate X, We pray X, We wish happy X for Y & Z,…” to this gooner shit now

Why aren’t these people being arrested immediately? The military and police swear to defend the constitution. All of this is unconstitutional

They’re not citizens, so most people don’t want to stand up for them, and many people want to watch them suffer and laugh.

Am I the only one concerned that the senator didn’t forcibly bring him home? I feel like a US Marshall or three should have accompanied Mr. Garcia and the senator out the front door and onto the jet all the cons are complaining about.

I don’t think the United States in general gives a flying fuck about non-whites, now or in the past.

I give a flying fuck though, so I’m gonna get pissed when I see a basic lack of respect for any person. I’m going to get pissed and rail against every single erosion of rights I can, right up until I get the fuck out of this insane country.

Senators don’t have that kind of power. The constitution’s fatal flaw is that it designates the legislative branch to make the laws and the judicial to interpret them, but left both reliant on the executive branch the enforce them. He could certainly try to bring Garcia back but without the executive branch on his side he’d likely get stuck there himself.

You misunderstand; getting stuck there is exactly what the senator should have done if they wouldn’t let him take Mr. Garcia.

This is a falsely accused, illegally deported human stuck in an El Salvadorian mega-prison. Mr. Garcia is incredibly lucky to be alive at all. Can you imagine being in that scenario, meeting with your US state senator, then being lead back into lock-up‽ They had zero justification for sending him there, zero justification to hold him there, and zero justification to keep him one second longer.

What was the point of Van Hollen flying down there personally if not to bring him home? Leaving Mr. Garcia behind is tacit approval for disregarding due process.

This attitude is all that’s left when you spend almost a century creating a culture that tells people to stop valuing their neighbors.

I went to xitter to see if this indeed real (I don’t know how reliable xcancel.com is). Didn’t even find that tweet. I stopped at a picture of Trump holding up a photo that was supposed to show Abrego Garcia has MS-13 tattooed on his hand, and the picture was instead 4 symbols that were being “interpreted” to mean MS-13. That’s the kind of bullshit you expect from Flat Earthers and ancient alien conspiracists, not the goddamned White House.

    Sad!

Yeah, sorry I was unclear. I did go to their account on X, but I stopped looking when I saw the ridiculous pic of Trump holding up a blown up photo of someone’s hand like a gullible imbecile.

xcancel is nitter instance, which is a FOSS front-end similar to what invidious is to YouTube. What you see is pulled from the Twitter servers, but without all the trackers, ads and cookies you get when you visit twitter ‘the normal way’. I believe they maintain the integrity of the URL, so you can copy and paste the text after xcancel.com and place it behind x.com if you want to be sure xcancel or another instance parses data correctly. Your mistrust is a good thing.

And totally agree, conspiracist took over the government including their communication channels, still partly in denial myself because some stuff is so unbelievably crazy.

Can NYT or someone sue for libel? That’s defamation with false information. I’m not looking for a fine, but an order requiring them to say they were wrong and published false information. Then NYT can publish that tweet in their headline.

There seem to be some oversights among the guardrails of democracy here.

“We’re asking you nicely to stop this.”

    “No.”

“Don’t make us ask again. You’ve been warned.”

    “Still no.”

“Alright, buster. You asked for it. We’re going to ask even more nicely!”

Now the branches come too close to grinding irrevocably against one another in a conflict that promises to diminish both. This is a losing proposition all around. The Judiciary will lose much from the constant intimations of its illegitimacy, to which by dent of custom and detachment we can only sparingly reply. The Executive will lose much from a public perception of its lawlessness and all of its attendant contagions. The Executive may succeed for a time in weakening the courts, but over time history will script the tragic gap between what was and all that might have been, and law in time will sign its epitaph.
