why would a horse run amok just because the man is distracted?

or is it funny because the horse too got distracted by the writing?

    i don’t get it

How did Charles even get the note from Jill? Did he purposely wait until he was driving to write his? How did he intend to send her his reply, was he perhaps driving over to her place to hand it over in person? Then why write it in the first place, and not just tell her!

      I call shenanigans.

Ohh, it’s supposed to be Jill. So my approach that the horse was simply homophobic doesn’t work anymore.

Horses are stupid, for some reason it got confused or disturbed, and because it lacked the control of the carriage driver, it took a wrong turn.

What’s so hard to understand about that?

Horses aren’t stupid. Many a drunken cowboy made it home safely thanks to his trusty steed. But! Cartoon horses are stupid, much like cartoon humans.

They are not without intelligence, but they are still stupid compared to humans. They are also easily scared, and when they are they behave erratically.
But I changed the text to omit that part completely. Because somehow it seems to offend people?

I think the joke is, it’s the 17th century equivalent of texting and driving.

But the 17th century self-driving function actually worked, though.

So what you’re saying is Elon needs to attach a horse to every Tesla to make them self-driving?

It’s just a silly anachronistic texting while driving joke. Of course a horse wouldn’t ride off a bridge in real life when someone is writing a letter. But a car would if someone is texting.

Run amok or not, I don’t understand how it got so sideways on that narrow bridge.

Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

The rules are simple:

  • The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author’s website, for instance).
  • The comic must be a complete story.
  • If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
  • You may post comics from others or your own.
  • If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
  • The comic can be in any language, but if it’s not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post’s ‘body’ field (note: you don’t need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
  • Politeness.
  • Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.
