For me it’s The Rock and Chris Pratt.
Guardians of the Galaxy was great but I just wish he would stop playing starlord in every other role he’s in!
Nick Cage.
Man’s not a bad actor, but he’s often cast in roles he has no earthly business being in.
Honestly, 7/10 of his castings are way off.
You beat me to it. I like(d) him in his early career, then it got to the point where pretty much everything I saw that had him in it sucked, so if he was in a movie, it was a sign to me to skip it. I have had a bit of a change of heart in some of his latest stuff, I’ll at least consider watching it if there’s a modicum of evidence that there are redeeming qualities to the movie overall.
The other aspect of it is that I used to think he was good looking when he was young, and then sometime in the late 90s or early 2000s he just seemed to turn physically repulsive to me. Part of it is his hair. I think if he ever got a good hair cut or played a part that involved wearing a decent hair piece, it might not be so bad.
Leaving Las Vegas is genuinely devastating and that was his 90s peak.
He does recapture some of that magic in a recent one called Pig but that film benefited from a bait and switch marketing where they implied it would be like John Wick but was actually completely different.
I’ve seen Pig mentioned before as one of the good ones, so maybe I’ll give it a go one night when I have nothing else to lose. My favorite of his recentish movies is Renfield. Probably because I went in with low, low, low expectations and limited research, but it was much better than I was expecting.
You can tell my generation has mostly aged out of social media because no one has said Pauly Shore.
What’s wrong with Pauly Shore?
What’s right with Pauly Shore? And please state your age.
Aw man, I already regret asking. Asking about an actor that you only know from 90’s movies is a rookie mistake
He aggressively hit on my sister once
Chris Pratt, Jack Black. Melissa McCarthy used to be on the list, but not anymore.
Surprisingly, Kevin Spacey isn’t on there. The man is disgusting, but I really like his work.
What changed with Melissa McCarthy?
I loved her in Spy and Only Murders in the Building but I haven’t seen anything she’s been in for AWHILE otherwise
I can’t stand comedy movies like Spy, or Identity Theft. That’s what made me not like her. Exposure to her roles outside of that typecast changed my opinion. Like Only Murders. I also thought she made a very good Ursula.
Melissa McCarthy does that for me. It’s getting better, but for the longest time I’d see an interview with her about some project and she’s funny, charming, intelligent, and convinces me to check it out. Then I would watch the thing and it’s like “Haha fat girl poopoo fart.” .
Will Ferrell. He gives me the creeps and he isn’t funny.
Not a specific performer, but I avoid the It Girl stuff like the plague.
Sydney Sweeney, Jenna Ortega, Selina Gomez, those types where they’re going to be super hot products for a few years while they’re young and then they fall off once they age out of prime fuckability. I find it super disturbing, it’s like a sword is hovering over them.
The woman that played Cameron on “Halt and Catch Fire”. Couldn’t enjoy “Station 11” because she was in it.
Why don’t you like her? I’m not familiar with much of her work but literally stopped watching Black Mirror after the episode she was in because I knew it was going to get depressing again.
Jon Hamm might have bodies hidden somewhere. That guy sets off so many red flags for me, but is beloved by everyone. I’m telling you, I’m pretty sure he might be evil.
Seth Rogan
Will Farrell’s later stuff
Vince Vaughn
Rogan’s ok in something that’s written for him, otherwise he stick out like a seth rogan sized dogs bollock
Vince Vaughn was perfectly cast for Bad Monkey, IMO. He fit the role well, so he worked well for it.
He’s solid (in my opinion) in Brawl in Cell Block 99 also, as one of his non-comedy roles.
I mean there’s a list of actors that have ruined their shows for me:
- Danny Masterson
- Bill Cosby
- Kevin Spacey
- James Franco
- Kevin Sorbo
- Tom Cruise
So it’s not really what you asked because these are ones that I used to love and no longer do.
For the dumbest reasons, I can’t enjoy Gal Gadot. Her acting is repellent to me for some reason. Yes, she’s absolutely gorgeous but the acting ain’t great. I also didn’t enjoy Heather Graham’s acting but then I watched her in Scrubs and the role was just perfect. I hated The Rock’s acting as well, but my ex had a crush on him so we watched so many of his movies. Almost all of them shite.
Which Rock movies aren’t shite? I recall enjoying the Rundown, but that was also well before reaching the current saturation point
Moana
lol dude, I watched Baywatch, San Andreas, Rampage, SkyScraper, Jumanji and Central Intelligence from what I remember with my ex. I swear to God those movies get blurred in my mind due to his “samey” character/acting.
I think some of the movies you could argue that aren’t shite of the Rock’s are Rundown, Jumanji, Moana, and maybe some of the Fast and Furious movies. Although, I never really watched those (I’ve only see the first) but other people seem to enjoy them.
Kevin Spacey has been great or straight up magnificent consistently, lol, is it the moral aspect that disturbs you? I firmly believe (and evidence keeps piling up!) that most Hollywood actresses were couch casted, many boys were touched and the cycle repeats. The entire entertainment industry is compromised and has been for years (check out who taught Diddy his tricks). Nvm the “Hollywood accounting” too, money laundering and all of that.
Basically, if you’re enjoying American media, odds are it was made by someone who’s gonna go straight to Hell, no “Go” no 200 bucks, and bigger odds than whoever is making money out of your purchase/rental is going to an even lower circle, lol. Just pirate it and you take away your contribution to amorality, right?
A lot of actors are terrible people but Kevin Spacey specifically seems to play it up irl for some reason?
After he got booted for the whole thing he started making videos on his YouTube channel telling the world that he would come for them and that they would regret hurting him while in character as a villain from projects he’s worked in in the past.
He’s the only actor I know of that knows exactly why people don’t want to see him and continues to play into that specifically for some reason…
His accusers started dying shortly after he uploaded those videos. Enough so, that the rest dropped their lawsuits.
What’s the deal with Sorbo?
Oh, he went right-wing religious. I think he was a Jan 6th denier/supporter saying it was antifa. His views on atheists was weird. Like, when he did the Gods Not Dead movie and he was playing an “atheist” he was like, I had to get into the mind of an atheist and be the most despicable person or something.
He’s been a bit looney on Twitter for a while now.
Although I haven’t checked in for a while. I haven’t checked since awkward Hitler took over.
Oh he is on Twitter. Gotcha.
Although I haven’t checked in for a while. I haven’t checked since awkward Hitler took over.
He’s not gotten any better. I think Lucy Lawless might have once again had to call him “peanut”.
Gadot being pro genocide is a good reason not to support her
I had an internal laugh to myself in the Wonder Woman movie when the Amazons had an Israeli accent. I guess it was easier to train everyone else to mimic her accent than it was for her to not let it slip.
Kevin Sorbo
A yes, that is an actor. A bad faith actor!
The Rock is definitely overused, but he f****** killed it in the Rundown with Sean William Scott. I love Sean Williams Scott
I don’t switch anything off faster than when Danny McBride shows up
I used to think he was just a crass asshole but after watching and then loving Righteous Gemstones, he grew on me. Gemstones is such a crazy, hilarious, and satisfying show and the fact that he created/showran it changed my mind about him
Eastbound and down is pretty wild too. His sense of humor is always one step ahead of me for some reason and it works.
Two things I can stand him in: tropic thunder and this is the end.
This is the end just isn’t a very good movie IMO. Tropic thunder is fantastic though.
Amber Heard, Will Ferrell, Rodney Dangerfield, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Poor guy can’t get no respect
Maybe he could have tried being funny.
Glen Powell.
It’s like he was designed by a committee to make the most generic movie star white man imaginable.
He makes me want to buy a rape alarm, and I’m a man.
I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was revealed to not actually exist, and is in fact 100% CGI.
Jude Law. He creeps me out so much I can’t watch him. He’s been in the news for domestic abuse which doesn’t surprise me… I shudder watching him
