Trump is one of those guys you find on one of those “lol shit Americans say” videos where someone approaches “random” people on the street to ask them history or geography questions.

Except he’s your president, and because your country is “nice” enough to have the world exchange currency we all have to suffer for it.

      In 2016, I’d have argued he isn’t.

But now, after what we’ve seen out of America since, he is absolutely representative of who we are at our core in this country. Just wait until the supply chain breaks down from tariffs and people start to see empty shelves. You’re REALLY going to see who the American people are then.

His cabal of gamification experts discovered that the flaw in the Electoral college system could be exploited IF they could find a common denominator for all the low population areas with disproportionately high representation in the EC. Turns out it’s hate. Who’d have thought.

That’s a strategy as old as Reconstruction, utilizing an antidemocratic compromise baked into the Constitution by slavers who didn’t want the anti-slavery popular vote to have the power to take away their chattel. The brain trust behind Trump’s win aren’t especially clever. They’re just the latest schmucks to be soulless and hollow enough to fully embrace that hate-filled lowest common denominator, half a century after the last bunch finally got pushed out of power.

Its just Alzheimer’s, and hes trying to talk like he thinks people doesn’t see it.

His father also had it. And it is linked to both bad diet and genetics

This is a stretch. I saw the video, and he just misspeaks by saying “country” instead of “company”, but it’s clear that he understands it’sa company. He says he’ll place tariffs on their toys, not the “country of Mattel”

This one isn’t so bad. Simple misspoken word. Meant to say “company” not “country.” He referenced their “CEO” a moment later.

Literally a zillion valid thing to complain about Trump. This was nothing.

What makes it sting is that when it was Biden or Obama misspeaking, the right wing troll farms and the entire corpoganda machine would have a great day with it. And god help them if they wore beige.

So yeah, I don’t feel a need to play fair anymore. He asked for every whiff of smoke he’s getting.

For anybody else in his position it would have been a pretty big deal. But because it is Trump and we know how he is with words (as in not at all), this is “nothing”.

He needs to be judged harshly on everything he does. Everything.

Let’s just imagine if Biden had said something like that. Or if Obama did it (whilst wearing a tan suit for extra fake rage). The us media would’ve been shouting about it and there’d be TV shows about it. Oppositional politicians would’ve been demanding impeach this and impeach that etc etc etc…

But, oh, it’s tRUMP who may have misspoke? Oh, well, he’s done much worse so let’s give him a pass, shall we? How about this…NO.
That fat, dumb, racist, rapist, orange cunt gets no pass, ever.

It’s the small passes over the years that have had no consequences for him that have allowed him to move to bigger and bigger stuff to the big horrible shit that he’s doing now. And has been doing for decades.
No passes, just harsh criticism. That’s all he deserves.

I kinda agree. I think the much bigger story would be the fact that he’s threatening a singular company with a specific tariff of they don’t do what he likes. I don’t even think that’s legal, especially without congressional approval tho I could be wrong. In any case if we start going down the road of picking and choosing which specific companies get to have tariffs or not we are going to fly so fast down the slippery slope of corruption my ass will break the sound barrier

    Was he ever cognitively there?

If it were not for his mental decline, he would not have gained the populist support of so many uneducated or uninformed people. Back when Trump was young and sharp the average New Yorker couldn’t stand him.

Years ago he was smart, fast, crooked, and completely devoid of ethics or morals. He has an instinct for self-preservation equaled only by New York City’s most vicious, flesh-eating rats. Those traits were imparted by a ruthless father and honed by a cold-blooded mentor.

But time has the final word, and J. D. Vance is waiting in the wings like a pudgy undertaker with a bereaved expression on his face and a twinkle in his eye.

I laughed the first time I heard a MAGAt talking about how bad Biden was at speaking. I seriously thought they were joking, because Trump’s word salad is far worse than any stutter Biden ever uttered.

…they were not joking. They seriously believe Trump is some great orator.

No shit, that’s why he signs whatever they put in front of him, and project 2025 has been followed almost to a T. He doesn’t give a crap about anything in project 2025. But he’s mentally in lala land and they’ve been hiding his declining health for a while.

Contextually, there’s no indication he had confused Mattel with a country, likely just said the word because of speech habit when talking about tariffs. To think he confused it, you’d have to subscribe to the idea he thinks it’s a country that makes toys and is run by an executive, or had an ear piece correct him mid-sentence.

He fucks up multiple times a day. There’s much more low-hanging fruit than this. Come on, peeps.
