I disagree. I don’t think that Paramount+ has been enshittified.

Because that would imply that it used to be good once.

Also, while it was never good for customers, it also hasn’t enshittified on the production side yet.

In a couple of years1, when their library looks like an Amazon search result, with AI-generated films by studios with household names like UBOOPI or SUWEEMA at the top of every category, then the platform is fully enshittified.

1: barring the more likely scenario of the AI bubble already having popped.

I’m not sure the AI bubble popping will lead to lower NN usage… It will definitely lead to lower AI stock valuations and an economic crisis, though.

Even pirating media from Paramount isn’t worth it. The bigger the audience their media finds, the greater space it takes up in the cultural mindshare, regardless of whether or not it was paid for.

The only answer is to treat the media produced by fascists and their enablers as material as toxic as their politics. Nothing of value is here, what is here is dangerous and repulsive to us, it is best left shunned and undisturbed, etc.

There is no shortage of independent creators making terrific work who are starving for an audience.

So in order to circumvent ads. I have to add several different apps, learn how they work, and then set it all up?

Seems equally annoying. Man I fucking hate how things have become.

It’s minimal effort to learn, I could teach my 6 year old nephew hire to do it in 5 minutes. It means no ads and no monthly subscription.

But if you prefer to pay for the opertunity to watch ads and give money to a trump supporter then that’s your choice

You clearly wanted to moan rather than be given solutions to your problem, so sorry for trying to help

I chose neither. It’s fucking ridiculous to pay someone else money to do the same thing that paying the app would result in the same outcome. It’s a lateral move regardless of what you tell yourselves.

Either way someone isn’t getting my money.

YouTube changed their app to double dip ads too. Previously I could connect to my TV, then play a video on it. Now I have to start the video on my phone, which plays ads, then connect to the Tv, which plays more ads before the video. Advertisers will never be satisfied.

Can’t trust anyone ever. TV used to be “Free” but you had to endure some ads. I found a VHS recording of Kqrate Kid a few years ago and it had really short ads. They started to cram more and more ads in. What if we play shows at 1.3 times the speed and cut some shit out? One more ad. I think at that point i’m just too autistic to watch ads. My sister always says that she doesn’t mind, she just records everything and skips the ads. Now, with some blockbusters, apparently you can’t do that anymore, so she’s just back to ads. I don’t think i have seen a TV ad in 15 years at my place. Now you pay for streaming AND watch ads. It’s insanity to me. I just couldn’t, i’d rather not watch something anymore tbh.

Im the type of person they hate, I got the service along with T-mobile internet. Technically, I’m not paying them a dime- and since they seem to subject people to annoyance after annoyance to entice us into paying to not be annoyed- I never will.

I just assumed this fit the description of something that belongs here.

I grabbed IPTV about a month ago now and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made concerning television and movies. All sports. All VOD. Every streaming service. I only really got it for hockey but the value is immense. I think my first month is just about up and I’m ready to go year to year. Honestly consider it.

Reading the comments, you don’t want to pay to watch ads (fair) but also you don’t want to pay and learn to use a new app to watch without ads… well… try turning off the TV and read a book.

Product placements exist in books and reading a book is not always practical. TV or audio you can turn on in the background.

You are right. But people before me have been trying to offer them alternatives so they stop seeing ads and they kept moving the goalposts because they just wanted to be right. And the only solution then is just turning off the TV. You won’t see any ads and you won’t need to spend money or learn anything new to avoid them.

Fair enough. After all, my bio says I’m a lot of things but not a velociraptor so I guess that one fits too.

However, I’m just stating facts. Several people before me have offered you solutions for you to stop viewing ads (your main complaint) yet you dismiss all of them because you don’t want to pay more or to learn a new app because you don’t have the time. However, you do have the time to come here, whine and dismiss others when they try to help you.

Idk mate, looks to me like you just want to whine for the sake of it. And in that case, well… go read a book: no ads, no sub to pay and no apps to learn.

You might want to check what does it mean to post on a public forum. People can reply to what you say. If you don’t like it… books don’t do it.

The only difference I see is that it’s always for something already on the platform, still an ad for something, give me the option to turn it off. Might be different if it was helping load the show, but if anything it adds loading time rather than reducing it.
