BBC: Country that’s been super consistent in this still saying the same thing

BBC: the sky’s been blue this whole time and we know why, but what’s to keep it from turning pink one day?

European nations have been left at the kids’ table in talks over the future of Ukraine because of decades of under-investment in defence, the chief of Germany’s largest defence contractor has warned.

Armin Papperger, chief executive of Rheinmetall, said Europe had itself to blame for being sidelined from US President Donald Trump’s negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.

“If you don’t invest, if you’re not strong, they handle you like kids,” he told the Financial Times. “It was very convenient for the Europeans over the last 30 years to say, OK, spend 1 per cent [of GDP on defence], it’s fine.”

This motherfucker is just saying give me money, nothing of value here.

I feel the same way, but the glamour only has its effect lost on us after certain experiences and ideology reminding us of its ugly side. If we dropped a farmer from 18th c. anywhere in the middle of times Square or Shibuya station, there’s no chance they won’t be in awe.

I find it refreshing to see a country that has serious, realistic and possibly pessimistic projections. They’re only expecting to surpass the competition on LNG carriers and be able to compete on aircraft in the coming 6 years, among a bunch of industries. Westerners usually predict they’ll cure cancer by 2030 (year of I won’t be in office anyway, slowly becoming 2035) and cure death by 2050. (year of my voters will be dead by then)

Alongside so much else, these fuckers aren’t taught the concept of trauma well. The more informed of them think it’s only debilitating trauma that keeps you awake every night and anything less just isn’t trauma. Others basically think it’s some mystical debuff.

There’s also something to be said about the barrage of assertions regarding what their adolescent self would feel or whether what teens want and what they need are the same thing. Children regularly hurl themselves into situations that might harm our traumatise them, their willingness isn’t reason enough to facilitate that.

I’m of so many minds in this, no idea how to feel.

Worst case scenario, this is actually a plan by the intelligence fuckers to cover their backsides better. The global south and any leftist worth a thing is now well aware and wary of anything that has to do with the NED. This could be a way to supply funds to their fascist puppets with even less scrutiny and notice.

I’m really hoping this is just the bourgeois dictatorship putting itself through interesting times. Decades of anti-communist propaganda accrued to a debt to truth, wouldn’t it be wonderful if they’ve fallen for their own deception and that debt is due?

They’ll never stop whining either, as though that ever changed anything

This is not a case of Trump having done bad things and Biden doing nothing. An analogue is if trump were firing a minigun on a bunch of people, he left office, Biden took over and resumed firing.

Also, sanctions by the richest country in history need to be proven to have adverse effects on the imposed in the same way the theory of gravity needs to be proven again: only flat earth type loonies need it so it’s merely an exercise, not an academic necessity.
