  • Man there was a video a while back about how echo chambers are actually probably not a huge factor in polarization in and of themselves, but that people are actually polarized when they encounter opinions in ways that drive them away from those opinions. Wish I could find it, it was really compelling and I can’t do the topic justice.

  • CeraVe always burns my skin and makes it all scaly and flaky by the next day, which is weird cause I don’t have a history of sensitive skin but I also have not yet ruled out that other products could be causing this sensitivity.

Had a good experience with Curél Ultra Healing lotion* however and when my skin is real sensitive, Vanicream always does the trick in moisturizing while giving my skin a chance to heal. Can vouch for the Vanicream cleanser as well.

*upon further research this is apparently a hand and body lotion lol but it’s non-greasy, non-comedogenic, with their ceramide complex and it works!! so w/e. The 1oz tube I got from dollar tree does not say where you are meant to use it and genuinely looks like a facial lotion 😆

Nah there’s definitely different universes/timelines in star trek. The series just have the one main timeline they follow.

    spoiler

In TNG theres the dark Romulan war timeline in which Yar doesn’t die in that confrontation with the evil tar pit guy and goes on to prevent war with the Romulans, switching us back to the main timeline where the war doesn’t happen but Yar’s descendant is a Romulan warlord.

I think this is the same timeline in DS9 where evil Kira and all of them exist. It’s mentioned in DS9 that the Kirk in this timeline also switched places with the Kirk in the main timeline at some point but I didn’t watch TOS so I cannot confirm.

The final season of Lower Decks was also a huge step into multiverse theory. So perhaps there is more to come.

agitprop gonna agitprop ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ being propaganda doesn’t inherently make something bad, it’s what the propaganda is in service of. This propaganda is in service of leading America away from its fascistic, ecologically and socially destructive, global hegemony. I tend to think that’s pretty good but opinions may differ.

I’m doing exactly what I told you to do.

I am getting organized with a revolutionary party, doing outreach and education in my community, forming coalitions, marching in protests and chanting at rallies. I’m doing what exactly was done to win civil rights reform, women’s suffrage, the new deal, etc. etc. etc, and I’m doing so with a party that is prepared to lead the country should they ever get the chance to do so.

Lmao. “anchor” is a funny term to use when you’re the one too busy wallowing in your own sorrow to get out on the streets and fight for a better tomorrow.

Either fucking do something or live with it.

Yes, yes, you’ve chosen the latter, I’ve chosen the former and I’m giving you a kick in the ass to do the same. That is the premise of this conversation.

I don’t know what tomorrow will look like, but I do know one thing; a revolution sure as hell isn’t going to happen with such a defeatist attitude. If I’m going down, I’m going down fighting to the bitter end. I am not content to sit around and watch the world burn as I twist myself in knots trying to absolve my own personal guilt for being part of the problem.

Edit: I thought this was a different thread but I’m leaving it as is cause it fucking goes for you too.
