When tethered caps are done well, mostly seen on flat-caps for water bottles, they’re actually very convenient. Just flip them over until they click in place and you don’t have to worry about holding them or placing them somewhere. Flip them back to close the bottle.
Unfortunately that often is not the case and then they suck.
I wish we could organize to ignore those idiotic product show-offs from billionaire’s playgrounds. No talking, no commenting, no sharing, living as if it ever happened. This would make those products be abandoned by investors and fade into the nothingness they deserve, along with their ego and all the invested money.
One can dream…

This is misinformation in the sense that caps got attached in order to reduce the likelihood of the bottle cap entering the environment since it is easy to loose, in particular when dumped illegally.
At least AFAIK.
Also those are cold gas thrusters meaning they do take electric energy to power the compressors that refill them, not fossil fuels to burn them.
That being said super cars are a luxury for the medium rich.
I’m glad that you’ve already pointed out the difference between environment and climate
Most of society’s electricity IS from fossil fuels. It has to be charged somehow.
Also the caps were attached to keep the bottle from becoming two separate pieces to help store plastic waste in a more consolidated manner. Also less choking hazards for animals and children.
I was going to say the same thing.
It’s amazing how many people just think electricity comes magically from the ether

I live in a sensible country, my electricity comes from 98% renewable sources.
I’m jealous. Lots of countries aren’t so smart and/or lucky
Well, all you had to do was learn a foreign language (your fourth), have a job in technology, spend a year preparing, get rid of most of your possessions, abandon your family and friends, move over 10,000 KM, change hemispheres, then find a job before you run out of money, and finally, you too could have spent a year in freedom and then have it all collapse as a part of the pandemic and AI boom.
I’m not doing OK. BTW, 19th of November is international men’s day. Maybe if people want the chuds to STFU on march 8th, reach out to people next month.
*lose
What caps are attached to bottles? I don’t think I have seen that.
EU decision. All caps used in single use beverage containers (bottles etc). Around 100 billion bottles per year are used in the EU.
The goal is not reduce the carbon footprint, but to reduce litter (loose caps ending in the environment).
It is convenient if implemented well, and annoying if not.
A big thing in Europe now. It might be limited in some areas based on whether the plastic of top and bottle need to be separated for recycling.
It’s awesome. I love having a few drops of liquid in the cap and the cap being in my face while drinking, the drops on my face now.
Also great for people with disabilities who can not hold things that good and caps sometimes snapping back can make a mess eg when pouring.
Yes, while it sounds exaggerated I’ve had it all happen sometime. So I tear them off.
For me the bigger problem is the plastic bottle attached to the cap.
It seemed to be standard in France when we’ve taken my wife’s parents back to visit their hometown
Why the fuck am I seeing bottle caps getting compared to some billionaire’s vanity project everywhere?
C’mon, surely you cannot be that dense.
Well yes, you get the golden cup of shit for the dumbest take on the subject, like, ever.
”Hitler committed genocide, so what’s eo bad about my little murder?“ - OP (allegedly)
I believe they’re making a point about media’s efforts to blame consumers for global warming, while the 20 most emissive corporations singlehandedly released 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions in 2024.
