In Beastars, animals like cows and chickens get paid for offloading their milk and eggs. There’s a whole side story about this chicken being very proud of her eggs and taking care of her body to produce the best quality product.

I was confused about that in Beastars. Like, don’t their newborns need the milk?

Maybe you could explain it that they all had miscarriages, but oof. Dark.

Also the quantity of milk/ eggs produced by cows and chickens is only so high due to millenia of selective breeding by humans, so was there a eugenicist milk aficionado in beastars universe?

oh you’re right, forgot cows don’t produce milk when they didn’t just give birth. To be honest I just assumed cows gave milk since chickens are shown giving eggs, but there’s no mention about cows afai-remember.

OK looked it up so there is an instance where you see a cow milk factory. They push them drugs to increase their production (not a legal business kinda slavery-ish). It’s possible some others rely on recently pregnant cows to donate some extra milk, or maybe it’s more common to go with soy, almond, oat, etc.

I mean, it’s already breast milk from another species. What, you’re gonna become a prude about it only when the cow is sexy?

I’ve met a handful of cowgirls, and they all liked being milked.

This is now the worst comment on my profile.
