I think it has more to do with everyone being so broke from food, vehicles, and housing.
Yeah but isn’t that the place to buy food? If foot traffic is down it means people buy their essentials elsewhere.
Most Targets have only a small section for food and their prices are higher than most other places. Target is essentially a Walmart for people who can afford to not have to go to Walmart.

No, they sell food but it’s a tiny part of the store usually.

Heh, I’m a balkan in the US and have dropped so much cold turkey after being a loyal customer/fan for decades. Closing my wallet and heart is easy. Money and attention should go only where its deserved.
You’re not allowed to steal from target but you are allowed to go in and try on everything all at once and leave it in the change rooms until they kick you out
You actually can lift from target, they used to be very aggressive in apprehending people, but they are too afraid of lawsuits like most big box stores, no touching, no instigating, just aggressive customer service.
Now some target have been hit so hard, they locked almost everything up

My daughter has a gymnastics class one night a week and there’s nowhere for parents inside the building so we’re expected to sit in our cars. Instead of using the gas to keep the heat on, I go to Target to take a dump and walk laps. Even my wife, one of the whitest women I know, has stopped shopping there.
I haven’t shopped at target in a while for unrelated reasons, but thanks for putting this on my radar that I should continue to avoid them.
Target was good for hot milfs and laughing about high prices. Maybe the clothes selection for kids is good. That’s about it. Fuck Target.
They are the only local place I can get transformers, aside from Wal-Mart.
Online ordering will have to sustain me, but that’s a lot harder to justify as “impulse purchase.”
