Aktshually Article 20 subsection 4 of the German Basic Law gives me explicit leeway to shoot the Führer:

    (4) All Germans shall have the right to resist any person seeking to abolish this constitutional order if no other remedy is available.

    And on his birthday, too!

The wording includes an important caveat:

        (4) Gegen jeden, der es unternimmt, diese Ordnung zu beseitigen, haben alle Deutschen das Recht zum Widerstand, wenn andere Abhilfe nicht möglich ist.

        This roughly translates to

Every German has the right to resist those who seek to abolish this [free and democratic] order if no other means are sufficient.

The conservative politicians/judges have watered it down to the point where you can only violently resist them once democracy has already failed.

If you just cared, you would’ve just had

done, finite. But then the little troll comes out

It didn’t take me long to realize blocking that instance was a good idea. I didn’t know about lemmygrad and hexbear (which federated) until someone from lemmy.world pointed out another user was “brigading”, and looking up how lemmy.world eventually blocked that instance the feeling I have towards lemmy.world is that they act like the “world police” of the lemmy-verse.

There’s no need to go around making actionable threats of violence that could be read out in a courtroom, that’s called fedposting. Try this on for size:

If the right keeps pushing, eventually someone’s probably going to feel like their back’s against the wall with no other recourse. For example, if there was, say, a national abortion ban, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone tried to kill the people responsible. Tragic, really, but that’s just the world we live in. Look, I want to do things peacefully, but if I can’t produce results that way, well, it’s not about me, it’s about what’s going to happen if other people lose confidence in my methods.

A prediction isn’t a threat. I’m allowed to speculate about other people doing stuff, aren’t I? Some historical orgs spoke that way, and their predictions could be eerily accurate.

thats just as bad as judging someone for their sexual orientation

As a queer person and a mod on lemmy.world, no it absolutely is not. Not even close. Not even in the same ballpark. An identity is 100% not the same as willingly choosing actions. You can disagree with the broad statement but equating it to bigotry is wildly out of touch.

Please don’t use this analogy again.

the two have in common the fact that a part of their identity regardless of choice is being attacked for no other reason than that
        demonizing people is demonizing people

alternatively create a better system of community moderation on a local level and lead by example it would be better for the fediverse as a whole for people to stop being so complacent and change things in their local community

The reality is that complacency is complicity. I would agree that LW mods don’t make up the instance rules, but if they are actively enforcing the rules instead of turning a blind eye then that is something that can be judged.

And this absolutely is not comparable to someone’s sexual orientation lmfao. Judging based on someone’s sexual orientation is bad. Judging someone based on the rules they enforce is 100% fair.

And for that matter, just politely disagree with the hive and see how fast you get Rule 1’d.

Not in anyone’s defense, but I’m pretty certain I read that .world is hosted in the Netherlands and are subject to the laws there. Suggesting harm on others is against the laws there or something.

The reason I haven’t been banned from .ml is because I don’t create content for places I despise.

                And here’s my modlog.

I’ve nothing to hide, bud. It’s all there. Want to compare? Or are you willing to admit your little distraction didn’t work.

My point is, if someone wants to talk shit about one instance, let’s balance the playing field and call into question another to compare, because it’s commonly known and widely accepted that .ml is run by authoritarian admins that constantly overstep the mod teams there.

They remove shit that provenly doesn’t break the rules- daily. This is not up for debate. Modlogs are public.

You tried to make this personal so you can report the conversion and get it removed. I know the game. I’m not playing it. I said what I felt needed to be said. And I’m done.

Enjoy the last word. Its clearly very important it is to you.

And that’s the big thing that worries me. In the last world war, even in an all-out war with no holding back, there was a limited amount of damage that could be done to the world and civilization. Today? We have enough nukes to destroy human civilization a dozen times over.

Western Europe (excluding Britain) is taking this threat pretty seriously

What an odd exclusion to make… The government might not be taking it seriously, but most others aren’t either (and why would they? they serve capitalism, not society). Plenty of the people here (in Britain, in case it wasn’t clear) are just as concerned as the rest of Europe (and the world)…
