Unfortunately, this particular image is a fake. Not sure why someone felt the need to fake it. So none else posted an actual photo in the comments and it is pretty easy to spot the differences.

It wasn’t a rally, it was a deeply weird press conference where he rambled on mostly pretending relining the reflecting pool behind him was some kind of triumph of his presidency.

That was more about the stupid shenanigans Biden tried to pull when he knew he couldn’t handle another term. Running Kamala was a last resort that might have even worked if they didn’t force her to take on the team that lost the election for Hillary.

What lost the election for her was Gaza. The Biden/Harris Admin was perfectly happy allowing Israel to do anything they wanted, as long as the campaign money kept flowing.

Then they realized too late how outraged people were about the obvious genocide in Gaza, and yet she still couldn’t bring herself to condemn it. Genocide is a red line that many, many people won’t cross, and won’t ignore, especially when it’s OUR tax money paying for it.

The Democrats actually thought that Americans would be okay with an entire oppressed population being systematically murdered by our proxies, which says a lot about them. That situation helped push me even further Left/Socialist.

I actually don’t mind it. Regular direct communication with the public? That’s an improvement from Biden, who disappeared and rarely spoke to the press.

Don’t get me wrong: I hate what Trump SAYS at his rallies. But the rallies don’t bother me.

        Town halls are better, though.

What bothers me about rallies is that they’re about rallying people, not conveying information. They’re about making a group of people feel stronger and more powerful. When he’s at a rally, he isn’t being the president for the whole country, trying to bridge divides and unite people. He’s instead trying to tell one group of Americans that they’re the real America, and that the rest of the country is full of evil.

You could theoretically have rallies that tried to make Americans be their best selves. But, most of the time rallies are about inflaming one group against another group, so I’d rather there be no rallies.

I get that, but these are also a tool for political revolution.

Bernie Sanders and AOC hosted a series of nationwide rallies against oligarchy in 2025. When they started, the political pundit class ridiculed these as out of touch. Oligarchy? That’s just a thing in Russia. Americans don’t even know what that is.

… cut to today. Oligarchy is a mainstream concept. They rallied people – not just folks like you and me, but a lot of normie #resistance liberals who were convinced in 2018 that Trump was an aberration on a well-functioning meritocratic American government – to shift political consciousness and organize in their communities to resist fascism.

Rallies are a tool to educate, motivate, and build public pressure, and can absolutely be used for good.

I said this elsewhere but I’ll repeat it for you.

If you’re unwilling to commit tax crimes to prevent your money from funding full blown fascism, then the absolute least you can do is vote against the full blown fascists spending that money.

Write your own name into the ballot if you want to be a dumbass about it, but at the very least that would be a better protest than sitting on your hands while yelling at people how effective your hand sitting is.

I do, whenever there’s only one unopposed candidate, or in the rare case it’s two Republicans against each other. And I get a few others to write me in as well.

Who knows? Maybe one of them will happen to die right before the election, and that will leave me (with all of 3 write-in votes) as the remaining winner.

It seems pretty obvious that two things are true:

                  • The votes people make are used to determine who gets elected
                  • People try very hard to influence how people vote

That makes it fake how exactly? Surely a fake democracy would not have the first property?

Your reasoning is so faulty that, given the choice between being forced to eat 1kg of shit and 10kg of shit, knowing that no choice made it more likely to be the latter, you would say ‘It doesn’t matter, we’re being forced to eat shit!’ then end up eating 10kg of shit, because protesting did not disempower those who would do that to you.

If you had preferential voting, you could vote for no shit over any, and less over more, but you don’t, so you can’t.

How is it not news that he’s “giving serious thought to renaming it the Trump reflecting pool”?

Because he says/attempts to rename everything after himself, so it’s not really news.

And he media gives him so much free air time, most of the time it only helps him.

Wait, I thought that image was a complete meme, not that he actually greenscreened the reflecting pool for the broadcast!

Edit: I’m a bit of an idiot, it’s not a gray wall, just the water reflection. It looks a bit miserable, someone really should paint it blue or something

I think that’s just the grey sky reflection you see on the photo. Looks weird due to the tele lens.

The video shows him walking around and driving around the pool in his limo

Oh, yeah, you’re absolutely right. That makes way more sense. I thought he might have been so paranoid he shot in some parking lot 😅

Honestly, it looked like a parking lot or airport tarmac to me as well. Still a bit weird how uniform grey the reflection appears to be

Someone could chuck a grenade over the top, so it needs a layer on top. Someone could use gas, so it needs to be absolutely airtight. When they make these improvements, I’d be keen to attend the rally and enjoy the show.

What a cruel, selfish person, and all those who freely chose him and others from the trash party.
